Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play. In this case, we shifted the game away from campaign mode and built an economy-based, multiplayer experience. On October 29, 2013, EA and Victory Games announced that work on "Command & Conquer" would cease: Generals, In August 2012, EA and Victory Games announced their work on Generals 2 would evolve into a different title, dubbed simply "Command & Conquer." This new version would be a "free to play" style game.Ĭancellation and closure of Victory Games The game was reportedly going to use the Frostbite 2 game engine.įrom Generals 2 to "Command & Conquer" Free-to-Play Unlike in the original Generals 2, naval units are planned for all three factions.On December 9, 2011, EA announced Command & Conquer Generals 2 is in development by Victory Studios. #COMMAND CONQUER GENERALS 2 MOD#
The Red Alert 3 version of the mod only contain the three base factions.
The Zero Hour version currently has 9 unique generals and 3 basic generals:Įach general has a unique set of units, structures and support powers, though much of the contents in the current version are based on vanilla Zero Hour assets. Starting from June 2017, the models and textures of vehicles are being overhauled to look more like the Generals 2 units they are based on.
On 8 April 2017, images showing the naval units and shipyards of all three factions were released. The first English version of the Red Alert 3 mod was released on 13 February 2017, containing all three playable factions. In August 2016, the development of the Zero Hour version of the mod was put on hold so the team could focus all of its effort on the Red Alert 3 version.
